If your Liberty Hill house was built in the last decade, you may never have hired a roofer before. The house came with a roof, the builder chose it, and you did not expect to think about it for years. Then a hailstorm comes through in April or May and the question arrives early: is this a repair, a claim, or a whole new roof? We walk first-time roof owners through that answer without the jargon.
Use the form and we will call to set a time, or phone (214) 766-3669. We take calls from 7 am to 6 pm, Monday through Sunday.
The people behind your Liberty Hill roof
Leanne Tolbert owns SunTex, and the company is 100% woman-owned and operated. In Williamson County, the people to know are Alex Keller, our Central Texas and Austin sales manager, and Travis and Alison Gardenhire, our Central Texas project managers. Beth Keller runs operations, and Suade Sherman runs our one office, in Frisco at 12800 Westridge Blvd, Suite 162, where scheduling and paperwork are handled.
Liberty Hill homes sit on subdivision streets in town and along the county roads around it, and NOAA's own storm reports name both. Our concierge service works the same way wherever the house is, and whatever the roof turns out to need.
A house on a county road gets the same complimentary assessment as one on a cul-de-sac in town: the roof checked, every problem photographed and a written estimate.
Your dedicated project manager schedules the work, answers your calls and walks the finished roof with you, whether the job is a few shingles on one slope or the whole roof.
When hail or wind is behind the damage, we document it with photos and support your insurance restoration claim. If a builder's warranty is part of the conversation, the same dated photos serve that too. Your coverage decisions remain between you and your insurer.
Call (214) 766-3669 or use the form. Tell us roughly when the house was built, whether this is still the builder's roof, and the date of any storm you suspect.
We come out to your Liberty Hill address, assess the roof and photograph each problem. You get an honest read on whether you need a repair, a replacement or nothing at all.
Once you approve the estimate and the material, your project manager books the crew, keeps you posted on the schedule and walks the finished roof with you.
The Census Bureau's 2020 to 2024 American Community Survey counts about 2,700 housing units in Liberty Hill. Roughly 2,200 of them were built in 2010 or later, and about 900 of those in 2020 or later (U.S. Census Bureau, ACS table B25034). The median home was built in 2017. In a town this size the survey's margins of error are wide, so treat every count here as approximate.
The rest of the picture fits a young town. The median value of an owner-occupied home is around $400,000, roughly three in five occupied homes are lived in by their owners, and about two in three housing units are detached single-family houses. Only about 120 homes predate 1940, and only a few hundred more were built before 2000.
The flip side of the ownership figure is that roughly two in five occupied homes are rented. If you own a Liberty Hill rental, the photos from our assessment let you see the roof's condition without climbing a ladder yourself, and your project manager keeps you updated whether you live down the road or across the state.
Liberty Hill storms tend to reach the next town too. On May 5, 2022, quarter size hail fell at the intersection of Highway 29 and Ronald Reagan Boulevard, on the road toward Georgetown, where we roof homes that saw 2.75 inch hail in 2020. On June 16, 2023, half dollar hail fell south of Liberty Hill on the same day NOAA logged golf ball hail in Cedar Park, where 2000s-era roofs took the bigger stones. On April 15, 2021, hail covered the ground in Liberty Hill while two inch hail fell on Round Rock, and we assess Round Rock roofs from that afternoon's storms as well.

From residential and commercial roof replacement to urgent emergency roof repairs, our 5-star service speaks for itself.
NOAA logged hail around Liberty Hill on May 5, May 16 and May 28, 2025, up to golf ball size. If nobody has looked at your roof since then, a free assessment with photos will tell you what those storms left behind, and whether a repair will cover it.
We opened in 2022, which makes us about as new as much of Liberty Hill's housing. SunTex is 100% woman-owned and operated, and our only office is at 12800 Westridge Blvd, Suite 162, in Frisco, the same address as our Google Business Profile. We do not have a Liberty Hill office and we will not pretend to. Our Central Texas jobs are led by Alex Keller on sales and Travis and Alison Gardenhire on project management, and you can find all three on our About page.
What we offer a first-time roof owner is straightforward: a free assessment, photos of the actual damage, an estimate in writing and one person managing the job. If the roof only needs a repair, we will tell you so rather than sell you a replacement.
NOAA's Storm Events Database files 22 hail reports under Liberty Hill between 2010 and the end of June 2026. Eighteen of them were an inch or larger, spread over 10 storm days (NOAA NCEI Storm Events Database). Most of the reports place the hail north, south, east or west of town rather than in it.
Wind shows up too. On March 21, 2022, gusts estimated at 65 mph damaged a sign at the Liberty Hill Plaza. These are reports from people who measured, filed under the nearest place name, so read them as a sample of what has hit the area rather than a full map. Nine of the ten days with inch-plus hail filed under Liberty Hill came after mid-2017, and hail and wind damage repair on newer Liberty Hill homes begins with photos tied to those dates.
Owners of older homes usually know their roof is aging. An owner whose roof went on a few years ago may not expect the question at all, and when a young roof takes storm damage, three questions tend to follow.
Is the damage real, or is someone trying to sell me a roof? Photographs of your own shingles answer that one. Does my builder cover this? The written warranty answers that, and we will explain what we find so you can compare it against the document. Will insurance pay? That depends on your policy and the adjuster, and we support the claim with the photo record.
We answer all three before we talk about price, and a fair share of the time the honest answer to the first is a repair.
A roof's age tells you how long the sun and weather have worked on it. It says nothing about the storms it has already met. A brand-new asphalt shingle hit by hail an inch or more across can lose its protective granules at the point of impact and crack the mat underneath, and that damage looks the same on a two-year-old roof as on a twenty-year-old one.
Liberty Hill's hail has mostly been in the one to one and a half inch range: quarter, half dollar and ping pong ball size. Only one report filed under the town reached golf ball size. That kind of hail does not always punch through anything, which is what makes it easy to underestimate. The bruises are quiet. Granules collect in the gutters, dark spots appear where the stones struck, and the shingle has lost part of the granule layer that shields it from the sun.
Wind adds a different kind of damage. The 2015 tornado's path crossed two subdivisions and damaged roofs on about 7 to 10 homes, and the same storm brought gusts estimated at 70 mph that damaged the roofs of several houses and a mobile home. A gust like that can lift shingles and break their seals without tearing them off, which leaves the roof looking intact until the next storm finds the weak spots.
The practical point for a young house is simple. If a storm has passed over, the roof's age is no reason to skip an assessment, and damage caught early on one slope is often a repair rather than a new roof. A repair on a builder-installed roof can be as small as one cracked pipe boot or a few lifted tabs, and roof repair for Liberty Hill owners hiring a roofer for the first time starts by finding which.
When a builder's roof needs major work, it is a chance to choose things the builder chose for you. Three choices are worth making on purpose.
We install impact-resistant roofing materials as well as standard shingles. On a house with Liberty Hill's hail record, it is worth asking about them during the assessment. Some insurers offer a premium discount for an impact-resistant roof, and TDI's guidance on that is summarized further down. Ask your agent before you choose, because whether a discount applies, and how much, is up to your insurance company.
Some owners want the new roof to look like the old one, especially where a neighborhood association reviews exterior changes, and on a repair a close match to the existing shingles is the whole goal. Others want a full replacement to change color or move to a dimensional designer shingle. Either way, we match approved specifications where an HOA has them, and we will attend the HOA meeting with you if the board asks.
Standing seam metal works as the whole roof on a modern house, or over a porch or entry as an accent next to shingles. Tile suits Spanish and Mediterranean elevations. We install asphalt, designer shingle, tile and metal, and we will talk through how each fits your house during the assessment.
These are different routes. A builder's warranty is a written contract, so its own wording decides what it covers, including anything it says about weather. A storm claim goes through your homeowners insurance policy. And some damage is small enough that a straightforward repair settles it. If a hailstorm damaged a roof that is only a few years old, read the builder's warranty for how it treats weather, then call your insurer about the storm. We photograph the damage so you have evidence for whichever conversation applies. If the builder's representative and your insurer both ask to see the damage, the same dated photos serve both of them.
The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center issues a severe thunderstorm watch for an area where it expects an organized episode of hail one inch in diameter or larger, damaging winds, or both (NOAA Storm Prediction Center FAQ). Eighteen of the 22 hail reports filed under Liberty Hill meet that one inch mark. When a watch covers Williamson County and hail falls, assume your roof may have taken hits worth checking.
May 2025 is the clearest recent example of how often hail returns here. NOAA logged penny size hail northwest of Liberty Hill on May 5, then five reports on May 16 running from quarter to golf ball size west and south of town, plus more reports that day between Liberty Hill and Leander. On May 28, hail from pea to half dollar size fell northwest and south of town. A roof that came through one of those days could have taken hits on all three, and a claim is easier to support when the photos are dated close to the storm.
If you are buying a home built in the last ten years, it is easy to assume the roof is fine. After a spring like 2023 or 2025, that is worth confirming. Ask for a roof assessment before closing, and ask the seller whether any storm claims have been filed on the house. Damage found before closing is something to negotiate. Damage found after closing is yours to deal with. Our assessment is free either way, and you get photos you can share with your agent.
The Texas Department of Insurance lists windstorm and hail among the risks home policies cover, except for homes on the Gulf Coast (TDI Home Insurance Guide). The same guide explains the difference that matters most on a roof claim. Replacement cost coverage pays to repair or replace at current prices. Actual cash value coverage pays replacement cost minus depreciation, the loss in value from wear and age. TDI also lists an impact-resistant roof, and a newer home or one in good condition, among the things that may earn a discount, and notes that each company decides which discounts it offers and how much. On a young Liberty Hill roof, depreciation is lower than on an old one, but the type of coverage you carry still changes what the claim pays. TDI's own worked example puts figures on that gap, and we set them out for replacing a hail-damaged Liberty Hill roof while it is still young.
The May 23, 2015 EF-1 tornado is a reminder that wind damage here is not hypothetical. NOAA's survey followed it from County Road 201 through two subdivisions to East Bear Creek Road, damaging roofs on about 7 to 10 homes and taking down large oak trees. Homes repaired after that storm may now have roofing that does not match on every slope. If yours is one of them, we can tell you whether a further repair blends in or whether a replacement is the cleaner way to bring the whole roof back to one material and one age.
After a repair or a replacement, you can join the SunTex Roof Care Program's twice-yearly inspections. The program lists protecting a newly installed roof among its purposes. Members get two inspections a year with a written roof health report and photos, minor sealant touch-ups, priority scheduling after severe weather, complimentary emergency tarping when needed and preferred repair pricing. For a young roof in a town that sees hail most springs, that record of condition starts on day one.
The full sequence, so you know what each stage looks like.
When you call (214) 766-3669, we ask what you have noticed, when the house was built, whether it is still the original roof and which storm worries you. If your address is on a county road, give us directions that work for a first visit.
We assess the roof at your Liberty Hill home and photograph the damage. You receive a written estimate and a recommendation on repair versus replacement. If you are filing a claim, the photos support it.
Your project manager confirms the crew date, checks in while the work is under way and walks the finished roof with you. Ask about the Roof Care Program before the walkthrough ends.
Before: a few years in, a storm-hit Liberty Hill roof rarely looks dramatic. A handful of granules wash out of the downspouts after rain. Dark spots dot the slope that faced the storm. A shingle tab lifts in the wind, and the gutters carry small dents nobody noticed.
After a repair, the damaged area is fixed and photographed, and the rest of the roof has been checked. After a replacement, the old roofing is off, the deck has been checked and repaired where needed, and new underlayment, flashing and roofing are on, in a material you chose rather than one picked for you before you bought the house.
The paperwork changes too. You hold photos of the old roof and its damage, the estimate, and the details of what was done. That record helps when you sell, and it gives you a baseline if another May brings another claim.
And if you join the Roof Care Program, the record keeps growing with every inspection, which is what an adjuster asks for after the next storm.
Hail from the spring, a tornado-era repair that never quite matched, or a roof on a house you are about to buy: whatever the reason, the first step is a free assessment and an honest answer about whether the roof needs a repair, a replacement or nothing.
Call (214) 766-3669 any day of the week from 7 am to 6 pm, or send the form and we will call you back. We will come to your home in town or out on the county road, photograph what we find and give you a written estimate.
The Liberty Hill work is run by our Central Texas team, and the office behind it is at 12800 Westridge Blvd, Suite 162, Frisco, TX 75035.

Liberty Hill roofing questions
If hail has passed over it, yes. Hail one inch or larger can knock granules off a new asphalt shingle and crack the mat underneath, the same as on an older roof. Eighteen of the 22 hail reports NOAA files under Liberty Hill were an inch or larger. Age protects a roof from wear, not from storms, so a free assessment is worth having even on a roof the builder put on recently.
Read the written warranty first, because its wording decides what it covers, and look for how it treats weather. Storm damage claims usually go through your homeowners insurance instead. We photograph the damage so you have the evidence for whichever route applies, and we support the insurance claim if you file one.
Ask whether the roof shows storm damage, and ask the seller whether any storm claims have been filed on the house. Liberty Hill saw hail on several days in both 2023 and 2025, so a roof on a house built in the last ten years may already carry damage. Our assessment is free, and the photos give you something concrete to raise before you sign.
Contact your insurer soon after the storm and note the date. Take photos or video of any damage you can see safely from the ground, and make only temporary repairs, such as a tarp over the damaged area. We photograph the full roof and support your claim with that record. Check whether your policy pays replacement cost or actual cash value, because that changes what the claim pays.
Yes, we install impact-resistant roofing materials, and they are worth asking about here. The Texas Department of Insurance lists an impact-resistant roof among the features that may earn a premium discount, though each insurer decides whether it offers one and how much. Call your agent before you choose, then we can price both options in the estimate.
Because a new roof is the easiest one to keep documented. Members get two inspections a year with a written roof health report and photos, sealant touch-ups, priority scheduling after severe weather and preferred repair pricing. When the next spring hail comes through, you will have dated records showing what the roof looked like before it.
